The Church Reopens with Fresh Energy and Packed September Programme

Posted on August 26, 2025 by Miranda Acres

After a short summer break, Ipswich’s much-loved cultural hangout The Church will throw open its doors once again on Saturday 30th August (12–10pm) – just in time for pre- and post-match gatherings in the heart of town.

Based in the former-named St Stephen’s Church on St Stephen’s Lane, the venue is part of the Brighten The Corners family (which also includes The Smokehouse and The Baths) and has quickly become a favourite spot for music fans, creatives and anyone looking for a place to relax with friends.

From September, The Church will open regularly Thursday-Saturday, 12-10pm, with extended hours and a new drinks menu featuring carefully chosen craft beers and wines. Visitors can expect a welcoming space that doubles as café, bar, record shop and live venue – with one of the best sound systems in town.

Whether you want to flick through vinyl, sip a flat white, enjoy a gig, or simply soak up the playlist, The Church aims to be a true community hub.
