What is Durga Puja?
Durga Puja is one of the most significant festivals in the Bengali calendar, celebrating the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura. It symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and is marked by elaborate rituals, artistic displays, and joyous gatherings.
In 2021, Durga Puja was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, recognizing its deep cultural significance and the vibrant community participation it inspires. This global recognition highlights the festival’s role in fostering unity, creativity, and spiritual expression.
