Information - Constable 250: Constable to Contemporary
Constable to Contemporary is the third and final exhibition of the year-long celebration, highlighting the artistic and cultural relevancy of Constable’s art through a variety of contemporary and community responses.
Featuring work produced over the anniversary year through varied engagement opportunities with our Constable 250 community partners. The exhibition is a chance to view over 100 works of art responding to the landscape, people and nature.
Suffolk Artlink’s Brave Art Groups, for adults with learning disabilities, will present a new body of mixed media works inspired by the portraits, clouds and landscapes painted by Constable. Community Hub Ipswich (CHIp) will showcase a youth led immersive artwork bringing to life recognisable motifs from the landscape surrounding Flatford in projection and paint.
Artworks by Amanda Ansell, Ruth Philo, Raksha Patel, Hannah Wright, Sarah Milne and Juliet Lockhart will be displayed alongside a selection of works by John Constable from the Ipswich collection.
