Ipswich is set to come alive on Bank Holiday Monday, 4 May, as the entire community comes together to celebrate Ipswich Town Football Club’s historic promotion to the Premier League. Ipswich Borough Council will host an event, bringing supporters, families, and visitors from every corner of Ipswich to share in a moment that belongs to everyone.

An open-top bus parade will roll out from Portman Road Stadium at 11:30am, making its way through the heart of the town centre before arriving at Christchurch Park for a huge community finale.
Key timings
- 11:30am – Parade departs Portman Road Stadium
- 12pm – Bus arrives in Christchurch Park
- 12:00 – 12:30pm – Team address and conclusion of event
After leaving the stadium, the parade will follow the route below:
- Sir Alf Ramsey Way
- Portman Road
- Handford Road
- Civic Drive
- Crown Street
- Soane Street
- Bolton Lane
- Westerfield Road
- Entering Christchurch Park
The bus is expected to arrive in Christchurch Park at approximately 12pm.
Please note some entrances to Christchurch Park will not be accessible for public entry so please check the below map before you plan your journey.

To make sure no one misses a moment, big screens will be set up in the park, broadcasting the parade live as thousands gather to welcome the team. Once the bus arrives, the manager, players, and club staff will address supporters directly, celebrating shoulder-to-shoulder with the people who have carried the club every step of the way. Festivities are expected to wrap up at around 12:45pm.

This celebration is about all of us coming together: supporters, residents, families, and visitors. It’s a day to show what Ipswich can do when we unite, and it will bring a real boost to our local economy and our town centre.”

Residents and visitors are advised that temporary road closures, traffic disruption, and parking restrictions will be in place across the bank holiday weekend to ensure the event runs safely.
