Celebrating Our Journey as a Newly Registered CIC

Posted on December 20, 2023 by James Kindred

We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our journey. After six months of work, Ipswich.love has officially become a registered Community Interest Company (CIC)! This achievement marks a new chapter in our commitment to the community of Ipswich.

At Ipswich.love, our decision to become a Community Interest Company (CIC) was driven by our core values and the desire to make a meaningful impact on our community. Here’s why being a CIC aligns perfectly with our goals:

A Commitment to the Community

Focused on Public Benefit: As a CIC, our primary goal is to benefit the community of Ipswich. This legal structure ensures that our activities are aligned with the public interest, rather than being driven by private profit.

Transparency at Our Core

Open and Transparent Operations: Transparency is a cornerstone of our operations. As a CIC, we are required to maintain a clear and open relationship with the community. This includes regular reporting and disclosure of our activities, ensuring that everyone knows how their contributions are being used.

Progressive Approaches

Innovative and Forward-Thinking: Our CIC status empowers us to be innovative and progressive. We are not just about maintaining traditional approaches; we’re about exploring new ideas and strategies that can bring about positive change in Ipswich.

Ensuring Accountability

Ethical and Accountable Practices: Being a CIC means we are held to high standards of accountability. We are responsible not only to our stakeholders but also to the wider community. This ensures that we operate with the utmost integrity and ethical conduct.

Engaging the Community

Enhanced Community Engagement: As a CIC, we have a unique opportunity to engage directly with the community of Ipswich. This allows us to better understand and respond to local needs, fostering a stronger, more connected community.

Looking Forward

With our new status as a CIC, we are excited to say that we’ve already started planning some inspiring initiatives for 2024. These plans promise to bring more vibrancy and positive impact to our community.

Thank you, Ipswich.love team, and to everyone who has supported us on this journey. Here’s to a future filled with more accomplishments and meaningful contributions to Ipswich!
