Since starting in 2017, MAN v FAT Football has made a significant impact on men’s health in Ipswich. The programme, which combines football with weight loss, is proud to offer its services in the town, helping men improve their health and wellbeing.
The first club in Ipswich was a turning point for many men looking to get healthier. Every Friday evening at Goals, participants take part in friendly football matches that are both fun and competitive. But the focus of MAN v FAT goes beyond the game itself—it’s about supporting men in their efforts to lose weight, get fitter, and improve their overall physical, mental, and social health.
The success of the first club quickly showed that more men in Ipswich wanted to join. This led to the opening of a second club at Whitton Sports Centre, which meets on Monday evenings. This expansion has allowed even more men to benefit from the supportive environment that MAN v FAT provides.
Since its launch, MAN v FAT Ipswich has supported hundreds of men in their weight loss journeys, helping them collectively shed over 3,000 kilograms. Participants have not only seen physical changes but also improvements in their mental health and social lives. The programme’s holistic approach ensures that it’s not just about losing weight but also about building a healthier lifestyle that lasts.
MAN v FAT is proud to be part of the Ipswich community and is committed to continuing its work in promoting men’s health in the town. With both clubs thriving, MAN v FAT looks forward to many more years of helping Ipswich men on their path to better health.

About me;
I started my MAN v FAT journey as a player back in 2017 after being upset by my wedding photos. After losing a life changing amount of weight (10st), I made the decision to transition to a coach and then gave up my business to pursue a career with MAN v FAT as a regional manager to help change lives of men around the country.
