Do you know where to gain support as a young player, official or spectator in our local community?
Suffolk FA Youth Council are a group of dedicated young individuals aged between 16-24 who support and run projects for the local footballing community.
The Youth Council works alongside Suffolk FA on several projects throughout the year to make a positive difference on our thriving local game. Last season, the youth council ran their first ever competition at the grassroots festival which saw some outstanding entries on why our local teams enjoy playing football – with Salvation Army U8s winning a £100 voucher as winners of the whole competition. The Youth Council have also worked closely to support the FA in developing their youth engagement strategy which saw Suffolk FA shortlisted as one of the top 5 finalists at the County FA Recognition Awards in Wembley earlier this month.
Recently, the Youth Council have been working hard on creating platforms for young people to gain knowledge and support from those alike in the community and experienced FA staff and guest collaborators. These groups focus on coaching and officiating, offering a platform for young individuals to learn, share experiences, and develop their skills in a friendly and welcoming environment, with occasional in-person events and training available to attend.
By joining these groups, you’ll be able to gain and share valuable resources that support one another within football. Participants will benefit from peer interaction and themed discussions aimed at improving their coaching and/or officiating knowledge. For more information on how to join these groups, please message us.
