Did you know you can vote by post? It might be more convenient for you than voting at a polling station.
If you’re registered for a postal vote in England, remember that you need to re-apply every three years.
Last date for applications to vote by post in the 7 May local elections is Tuesday 21 April.

Remember that you need photo ID to vote at your local council elections on Thursday 7 May 2026. Don’t have photo ID? Apply for free online or with a paper form by 28 April.
