INFOCUS, the annual exhibition of Ipswich and District Photographic Society, opens on Monday March 3 – at St Clement’s Arts Centre in Ipswich. It will be open every day until March 15th from 10-4.
The society is one of the oldest photographic societies in the country, with its roots in Victorian times. It celebrated 100 years in 1988. The annual show and prize giving is the biggest event of the year, and has been presented in various Ipswich venues for more than 40 years.
Subject matter includes portraits, landscapes, wildlife, nature and photographic compositions and abstract pieces.

Club president Alison Hance said: “We are delighted to be coming to this lovely venue for the first time. It is an important event within the society’s calendar and allows us to show the public the best of our work.
“We invite you to come along and view over 180 prints and 160 digital images encompassing all genres of photography.” We are a friendly society and we would also like to attract new members. Photography can be a great hobby for all ages, or even a career.
The first Ipswich photographic society was formed with a meeting in March 1888, in the early days of photography.
There are club activities and events all year round. Events are posted on our site here:
