What’s On in Ipswich This Week: A Great Mix of Events to Enjoy

Unitarian Meeting House: Unitarian Christmas Carol Service

On 20th December 2025, join the Unitarian Christmas Carol Service hosted by the Friends of the Ipswich Unitarian Meeting House. This charming timber-framed historical venue provides a unique and warm setting for an evening of festive carols starting at 6:00 pm. It’s a lovely way to get into the Christmas spirit, surrounded by the rich heritage of Ipswich’s Unitarian Meeting House. More about the venue can be found here.

Christchurch Park: Free Cycling Activities – Cycling for Health Group

If you fancy some outdoor exercise, the Cycling for Health Group meets every Wednesday at 10:00 am outside the Reg Driver Visitor Centre in Christchurch Park. These free sessions provide a welcoming environment to boost your wellbeing on your bike, with bookings required in advance. Christchurch Park: Free Cycling Activities – Moderate Cycling Group

Later on the same day, at 1:30 pm, the Moderate Cycling Group gets rolling for those looking for a bit of a more energetic ride. An excellent opportunity for cyclists to enjoy scenic routes around Ipswich in nice company. Same meeting point as the health group, outside the Reg Driver Visitor Centre in Christchurch Park.

Whitton Sports Centre: 50+ Badminton Class

For sports enthusiasts aged 50 and over, the weekly 50+ Badminton Class is a great way to stay active and socialise. Sessions run every Friday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Whitton Sports Centre. The Hive: English Basic Class (for Portuguese)

The Hive hosts weekly English basic classes for Portuguese speakers every Tuesday from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm. If you’re looking to brush up on your English language skills in a supportive environment, this could be the perfect choice. Booking at the venue is advised. Learn more about The Hive.

Broomhill Library: Wordplay at Broomhill

Every Friday, Broomhill Library runs Wordplay sessions designed for children, helping to develop literacy skills in a fun, interactive way. Sessions start at 9:30 am, term-time only. This is a wonderful community library supporting early learning. Take a look at Broomhill Library.

Castle Hill URC Church: Musical Theatre Dance – Juniors

Keen young dancers will enjoy the Musical Theatre Dance classes for juniors held every Wednesday from 5:15 pm at Castle Hill URC Church. Sidegate Lane Community Centre: Table Tennis

The Bell Inn: Karaoke!

Northgate Arts Centre: South Suffolk Youth Wind Band
