Information - Workshop: Maidens, Spinsters, Good Wives & Widows – The Lives of Women in East Anglia

Please note that this event is booked as a 5-part series and individual event bookings are not available

In these workshops we will be using a collection of original manuscripts from the archives, along with online research, to uncover the stories of women from various social backgrounds who lived between 1500 and 1900. These include a Tudor Lady of the Manor, an elderly widow accused of witchcraft, and a Georgian Gentlewoman.

By analysing historical documents, we aim to construct biographies of a segment of rural society that has been largely overlooked and marginalised.
