Trianon: A Musical Gift Unwrapped

Get ready to immerse yourself in a special evening as the Trianon Choir and Symphony Orchestra proudly open their 2026 season with a concert celebrating the life and musical legacy of their co-founder, Chris Green OBE.

About the Evening

The concert kicks off with three beautiful pieces commissioned especially by Trianon, composed by Carl Davis, Ronald Corp, and Matthew Curtis. These works mark significant milestones in the group’s remarkable history and set the tone for a night filled with wonderful music.

Next, enjoy a heartfelt sequence featuring music by English composers who were important to Chris Green, including Edward Elgar’s stirring “Nimrod” from his Enigma Variations. The highlight of this section is Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Serenade to Music,” performed alongside four applauded soloists who are dearly loved by Trianon audiences:

  • Margaret McDonald
  • Julie Roberts
  • Richard Reaville
  • Mark Saberton

Second Half Highlights

The second half offers familiar tunes that have resonated through film, stage, and television. You’ll recognize John Williams’ “Hook: Flight to Neverland,” Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s iconic “Memory” from the musical Cats, and Howard Goodall’s touching setting of Psalm 23, made famous by The Vicar of Dibley.

The evening concludes with a special medley composed by Andrew Burke for Chris Green. This piece beautifully weaves together music from each decade of Trianon’s impressive 60+ year history.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
