Information - Talk: Freston Archaeology Research Mission by Dr Tristan Carter

Suffolk Archives and Suffolk New College are pleased to present a talk by

Dr Tristan Carter, MacMaster University, Ontario, Canada

Freston Archaeology Research Mission

In 2021, the Freston Archaeological Research Mission returned for their second season of excavation to investigate the Early Neolithic causewayed enclosure at Freston, a social gathering place for the first farming communities of Suffolk, 100 times larger and a 1000 years older than Stonehenge.
Dr Tristan Carter, will share the results of the excavations, work that is revealing Suffolk’s earliest sacred landscape, stretching back to the time Britain was joined to the continent.
We will also be showing a film created by Suffolk New College Media students who filmed the archaeological dig at Freston, with footage of the finds plus onsite and behind the scenes interviews with the team.
