Information - Sun Printing

Learn how to create one of the earliest forms of photography – a cyanotype or ‘blueprint’. Come join our 45-minute sessions on the 12th or 13th of August at 10 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, and 2 PM. The artist will supply all materials, and instruction and support will be provided.

By placing materials, such as dried flowers, onto a specially coated (non-toxic) light-sensitive paper, you will create beautiful images as the sunlight changes the colour of the paper. We will rinse the print in water and hang it up to dry. This is where history, art and science meet, and the results are magical! You will take away some mini-prints and a keyring as a keepsake.

This event is recommended for children aged 5+ and their parents/carers. Parents/carers must remain with their children throughout the event.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
