Information - Summer Zine Club

Join experienced Zine maker, Amy Wragg, for a creative afternoon making your own zine. Limited to 6 spaces, so we can sit comfortably, with enough space to get creative, in the meeting room (with air con).

Zines (pronounced zeens) are handmade (folded) pamphlets. Content, styles and topics vary wildly, but each one is always a combination of art, collage, words, stories, and ideas. All materials provided, including: posca pens, ink stamps, stickers, colourful paper and card, and a huge selection of printed materials to harvest (newspapers, magazines, etc). Please do bring along additional/niche materials/magazines you may wish to include in your Zine (that you are happy to cutup).

We’ll start each session with a potted history of the form, and take a look at some great examples of Zines from a private collection. Then we’ll harvest some ideas, and crack on with our creations.

3 Hour session, to ensure that everyone can complete (at least) one Zine by the end.

£10 per person (£1 bf online) but cash/card accepted on the day, if emailed in advance and confirmed.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
