Information - Summer Business Leaders Lunch 2025, Ipswich

The Suffolk Business Leaders Lunch is a gathering of likeminded business leaders, entrepreneurs, and directors from across Suffolk, who are passionate about business, connectivity, and community. The aim of the lunches is to offer a place where knowledge, insights and networking provide a catalyst for action, and a safe ‘Chatham House Rules’ style of engagement exists.  They strive to share the voice of a local cause or charity and offer an after-lunch speaker to present their insights on thought leadership.

At June’s lunch we have local legend, managing director of Hudson Group and new chair of Ipswich Central, Steve Flory.

Steve Flory started his working life at the major UK Insurance company, Willis Faber and Dumas (now Willis Towers Watson) The last 25 years have seen him develop his own business ventures. Steve was a founder of Ansaback, a leading UK call centre, and is currently Managing Director of The Hudson Group and newly appointed trustee chair of Ipswich Central.

Formed in 2007, Ipswich Central is the Business Improvement District (BID) company for the town centre, waterfront and ‘Connected Town’ area. It’s purpose is to make life in Ipswich more vibrant, more welcoming, and more fulfilling.

Working to help support aspiration and opportunity for all, Steve is the lead industry partner of Suffolk New College, an active member of the Ipswich East Rotary Club, and previously an ‘Eastern Enterprise Hub Superstar’ – helping people fulfil their dreams of owning their own business. Until September 2017, he was Chair of the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity and is now Chair of Trustees for Brave Futures and Ipswich Central.

Our charity speaker is Hannah Walker from Brave Futures

Brave Futures is a specialist support service for children and young people in Suffolk and Norfolk who have experienced sexual abuse. They support children to make sense of the confusion they feel and help them move from victim to survivor. Hannah Walker, Fundraising and Marketing Manager, has been with the charity for over five years.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
