Information - Ipswich invited to the Cornhill to celebrate ITFC Women’s Promotion

Ipswich Borough Council is proud to invite residents to join a special celebration on Saturday 10 May when, after weeks of planning, the town will come together to mark Ipswich Town Football Club Women’s Championship promotion in style.

In the lead-up to the Ipswich Town v Brentford fixture at Portman Road, a special event will take place at 11:20am on the Cornhill.
Hosted by the Mayor of Ipswich, it will give fans the opportunity to celebrate and show their appreciation for the team’s remarkable achievements this season.

The celebration will feature members of the ITFC Women’s squad and coaching staff, as well as music, interviews, and plenty of opportunity for supporters to share in the moment.

Councillor Elango K. Elavalakan, Mayor of Ipswich, says:

“This is a fantastic moment for football in Ipswich, and we’re delighted to be recognising the ITFC Women’s Championship promotion.
The team has worked incredibly hard and inspired so many in our community, this celebration is a chance for everyone to show their pride and be part of the celebrations.”

Residents and visitors are encouraged to wear their blue and white, bring friends and family, and enjoy what promises to be a proud day for Ipswich. The event is free and open to all.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
