Information - Game Anglia Festival

The Game Anglia Festival 2025 brings together the East of England’s games industry and anyone wanting to work in games to be inspired, showcase and play games!

For one day, educational institutions, independent game developers and people interested to learn about careers in the games industry will gather at The Hold, showcasing their games, exchanging knowledge and networking.

Game Anglia 2025 will have talks from two seasoned game developers who will be sharing their experiences with the participants: Maria Barte and Katherine Bidwell.

Maria Barte is a Games Designer at Electronic Arts who is a University of Suffolk graduate and has worked on EAFC, Need for Speed Rivals and Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Katherine Bidwell established State of Play in 2008 in Cambridgeshire. Their work has won a number of international awards, including a BAFTA for Artistic Achievement for their handmade puzzle adventure game Lumino City and the Apple Design Award 2016 for INKS.

The event will also feature the Game Anglia Awards for:

  • Best Student Game
  • Best Independent Game
  • Game of the Show
