We’re thrilled to announce that the legendary David Essex OBE is coming to Ipswich as part of his major nationwide tour ‘Thanks for the Memories’ this September 2026. This exciting 21-date tour celebrates his remarkable career as a singer, composer, and actor – and it’s definitely a show you won’t want to miss!

A Career Full of Hits and Highlights

David Essex first shot to fame playing Jesus in the London production of Godspell, earning major awards and starring in both the Roundhouse and West End productions. Since then, he has enjoyed incredible success with over twenty-three Top 30 singles in the UK alone. Fans worldwide know and love hits like Rock On (Grammy nominated and chart-topping in both the UK and USA), Lamplight, Hold Me Close, and Gonna Make You A Star.

Aside from music, David has a rich history in stage and screen, featuring in films like Silver Dream Racer, That’ll Be The Day, and the BBC hit series EastEnders, where he portrayed the head of the Moon family. Theatre lovers will also recognise him from productions such as Evita, Footloose, and his own musicals including Mutiny! and All The Fun Of The Fair.
