Information - Btcp: Mike Joyce (The Smiths) Dj Set

Brighten The Corners Presents Mike Joyce of The Smiths for an Alternative 80s DJ set at The Baths on Saturday 6th September! DJ support comes from Alternative Ipswich’s Ed Barnes.

Dig out your 501s and style that quiff as The Smiths’ charming man Mike Joyce takes you back in time to the Alternative 80s. A time when alternative music ruled the radio and indie bands like The Smiths, The Cure and Depeche Mode were Top of the Pops.

As drummer for The Smiths, one of the UK’s most influential bands, Mike Joyce helped define the 80s as the Best Decade of Music ™. And his Alternative 80s night will have you dancing like you just can’t get enough.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
