Information - Anchors Away

Join us for a unique experience on the river following a curated tour of Suffolk Archives’ latest exhibition, Anchors Away — a celebration of Suffolk and its historic ties to the sea.

Following a curated tour at The Hold, join Orwell Lady, where historian Dale Banham will share the fascinating story of Ipswich’s Charter. Signed in 1200, this landmark document marked a turning point in the town’s history, paving the way for greater freedoms and new opportunities.

Tickets (combined tour and trip) are: Adults £20, Concessions £18, Children £10, Family ticket (2+2) £55

Under 3s travel free.

PLEASE NOTE: You will meet at The Hold at 12.30pm to view the exhibition and then walk to the boat for a 2pm departure.

The river trip is approximately two hours long.

There is a café at The Hold and a licensed bar on board Orwell Lady selling hot and cold drinks.
