Information - Amplify

Ipswich Museum presents ‘Amplify’ at Ipswich County Library for young adults aged 16 – 30, to build connections and explore career pathways with cultural organisations and wellbeing services. To share knowledge, self-express and to ultimately have fun whilst doing so.

10am – 11am: Natural History Drawing Workshop with Artist/Museum professional Lisa Temple-Cox.  Join Lisa Temple-Cox, and have a go at drawing animal skulls from the Ipswich Museum collections and her very own. Learn about our native mammals and explore in different media. No experience necessary.

11am-12pm: Build Your CV through Volunteering and Youth Social Action with Volunteering Matters.  Join Volunteering Matters for a workshop focus on how volunteering can build your CV, confidence and future prospects. Together you will identify your goals and interests and align them with education and job applications. You will learn how becoming a Youth Social Action volunteer helps your progression through school, college and employment. No experience necessary.

12pm – 1pm: Vison Poster Workshop with Young Artists in Suffolk Amy from Young Artists in Suffolk will be running a collage workshop to create your own vision poster. This will be a guided workshop, aimed to inspire creativity and personal goals for the year ahead. Plus, this is a great chance to relax, connect and enjoy making something to take home. 1pm – 2pm: Hero’s on Your Doorstep-An Interactive Carousel Workshop with Aspire Black Suffolk Join Aspire Black Suffolk for an immersive, carousel style workshop celebrating local Black heroes through the power of human stories and the universal language of music.
What to expect: Sit down with real people from your community who have inspiring stories to share. Explore what music means to different people through a powerful archive record set. Contribute your thoughts, reflections and creativity throughout and sign up to join the Aspire Youth Board -be a voice of change in your community by contributing to youth-led educational / social development
