A festive evening of fine dining, live entertainment and fundraising is set to return to Ipswich this autumn as SSAFA Suffolk launches tickets for its annual Christmas Gala.
Taking place at Venue 16 on Saturday 28 November 2026, the much-loved event will bring together members of Suffolk’s Armed Forces community, local businesses and supporters for a celebration that raises vital funds for veterans, serving personnel and their families.
Now in its third year, the gala has become one of SSAFA Suffolk’s flagship fundraising events, combining festive cheer with a chance to make a real difference to those who have served their country.
Guests will be welcomed with a complimentary drinks reception before enjoying a packed programme of entertainment. There will be opportunities to have festive photographs taken with Santa and Mrs Claus, while local singer-songwriter Jade Mayjean, who appeared on BBC’s The Voice, will perform a mix of original music and seasonal favourites.
A two-course gala dinner, fundraising games, raffles and a dance floor will help keep the celebrations going until midnight.
The evening will also welcome Suffolk’s Lord-Lieutenant, Mark Pendlington, as guest of honour. Known for his long-standing commitment to communities and voluntary organisations across the county, he will address guests during the event.
Robin Needham, Event Organiser, Community Engagement Volunteer for SSAFA Suffolk and organiser of the event, said the gala is about bringing people together while supporting an important cause.
“Christmas is a time to celebrate the power of community and bring people together, and we’re delighted to host SSAFA Suffolk’s third Christmas Gala.
“It’s the biggest event of the year for our branch, and it’s wonderful to see so many people embracing the festive spirit while helping to raise much-needed funds for local veterans, serving personnel and their families.
“Whether you’re attending with friends, family, colleagues or clients, this promises to be an evening filled with laughter, festive cheer and the opportunity to make a real difference.”
Tickets are priced at £65 per person, with discounted rates available for larger groups booking tables of 10 or 12 guests. Doors open at 6pm, with the event running through to midnight.
Every ticket sold helps SSAFA continue its work providing lifelong support to serving personnel, veterans and their families. The charity has been supporting the Armed Forces community since 1885 and remains a vital source of practical and emotional assistance for those facing challenges connected to military life.
