On the corner of Gatacre Road and Bramford Road is the Eastern Angles Centre. A Victorian Primary School and the former Suffolk Records Office, this building is home to Eastern Angles Theatre Company who in recent years have transformed the space into a buzzing arts centre. This Christmas they’re playing host to an unforgettable Fezziwig party as they present a new big-hearted production of A Christmas Carol in their theatre.
Founded in 1982, Eastern Angles has established itself as the touring theatre company for the East of England, touring and producing new work across the region. Over the past three years, they’ve expanded their Ipswich base and community work to develop the Eastern Angles Centre as a thriving community-centred venue in the heart of West Ipswich. Home to their own engagement work including three free youth theatres, the Centre also hosts an intimate studio-style theatre space.
This winter, their festive production A Christmas Carol will fill the auditorium with music and merriment in a unique staging that immerses the audience in this classic story. Escape into a world of joy, anarchy and magic for a tale of community and kindness triumphing over greed and selfishness.
This new production brings home the real struggle of hard-working families and the joy the festive season can bring. Complete with original music, puppetry and a Fezziwig party you won’t forget – A Christmas Carol promises to be the most heart-warming festive show in all Suffolk.
And Eastern Angles is embracing the Christmas spirit all year round with a super summer ticket offer! Bob Cratchit has snuck into the Eastern Angles Box Office and is offering free child tickets for every adult ticket purchased in August. Best to snap them up quick before Scrooge finds out!
A Christmas Carol is at the Eastern Angles Centre in Ipswich from 28th November – 5th January, with BSL interpreted performances on 30th November and 21st December. To find out more and book your tickets, visit easternangles.co.uk or phone the Eastern Angles Box Office on 01473 211498.
