We want your ideas – 10 Year Culture & Heritage Survey

Posted on March 8, 2026 by Kath Cockshaw

Over the coming months, something important is taking shape in Ipswich.

Across the town, we’re listening – through surveys, recordings and conversations – capturing what makes Ipswich distinctive and how culture can help our town to thrive over the next decade. Our aim is clear: a 10-year Culture & Heritage Strategy shaped by the diverse lived experiences of Ipswich’s community.

Some of you may have been involved in the initial consultation this time last year, backed by Ipswich Borough Council. If you did, thank you for your time in contributing to that process, which gave us a great basis to build from.

This next phase, backed by the Arts Council, is about gaining further insights and putting forward your ideas and recommendations.

Our Creativity Survey is now live – please could you complete and share the link on your socials/ to your friends and networks?

If you’d like to talk about ideas in person, why not join us at Ancient House on Saturday 4th April 10-4pm?

We’re taking over the venue for the day to get the survey out to as many people as possible in the town centre.

We’ve also commissioned a local filmmaker to gather stories that show Ipswich through the eyes of its residents. The insights are already powerful and we’re just getting started.

We hope you’ll be part of shaping what comes next.

Thank you – Kath and the Culture & Heritage Strategy team
