Ipswich Portal to connect with Barre Grande, Brazil today!

How cool to see the opening of the next Portal sculpture in Barra Grande, Piauí, Brazil, on March 28, 2026, at 1 pm UK time.

Situated in a stunning beachfront location along one of Brazil’s most beautiful coastlines, the Piaui Portal will be the first Portal in South America and the seventh Portal sculpture worldwide.

Barra Grande’s new Piaui Portal offers a live window into a destination celebrated for its natural beauty, warm hospitality, and growing international reputation for ecotourism. Its vibrant beach culture and strong connection to watersports attract visitors seeking both energy and tranquillity by the sea.

The town of Barra Grande is located in the city of Cajueiro da Praia

For us all, we will be able to take a look at a remarkable coastal destination on the other side of the world. The ocean horizons, golden beaches, and lively shoreline shaped by nature, sport, and community are not too dissimilar to the Suffolk coastlines. The only difference is that they are located in opposite parts of the world and probably have better weather!

We ar elucky that Ipswich delivered the UK’s first and only Portal, launched in October 2025.  It has seen many visitors and get us connected to Vilnius (Lithuania), Lublin (Poland), Dublin (Ireland), Philadelphia (United States), BGC Manila (Philippines), and now Piaui (Brazil). Other locations are set to open later this year.

Why not pop along to be part of the launch, which will go live at 1pm on Saturday, to gather at the Portal on the Cornhill to watch as Piaui is turned on.
