One Big Multicultural Festival Returns to Ipswich for its Biggest Celebration Yet!
Hello Ipswich! As the press officer for Ipswich.love, I am absolutely thrilled to share some fantastic news that will undoubtedly be a highlight of our summer. Ipswich is set to come alive with vibrant colours, incredible music, and mouth-watering global flavours as the much-loved One Big Multicultural Festival returns to Alexandra Park on Sunday 30 August 2026.
Organised by the award-winning charity BSC Multicultural Services in partnership with Ipswich Borough Council, this free festival promises a brilliant afternoon packed with live entertainment, international cuisine, sports, and family-friendly activities starting from 12 noon.
This festival is a fantastic way to bring our community together and celebrate the rich diversity that makes Ipswich such a special place to live. It’s now widely recognised as a cornerstone of our town’s cultural calendar, attracting over 5,000 visitors each year. Free events like this are incredibly important for fostering a strong, inclusive community where everyone feels welcome, connected, and valued.
What to Expect on the Day
This year’s celebration promises to be the biggest yet! You and your family can look forward to an even more diverse programme of performances from locally, nationally, and internationally recognised artists. Alongside the vibrant stage line-up of live music and dance, there will be stalls, workshops, and interactive activities celebrating cultures from all around the world.

Visitors can tuck into delicious food from across the globe, whilst children enjoy the funfair and various family activities. For those looking for hands-on cultural experiences, there will be traditional sports such as Kabaddi to try, as well as beautiful henna art, face painting, and a wonderful array of community stalls to explore.
Councillor Neil MacDonald, Leader of Ipswich Borough Council, shared his excitement: “We’re delighted to once again support this year’s One Big Multicultural Festival, which has become a firm favourite in Ipswich’s events calendar with something for all ages – residents and visitors alike. Our town’s rich diversity is one of its greatest strengths, and this festival is a fantastic opportunity to come together and celebrate everything that makes Ipswich such a vibrant and inclusive place.”

Details of the performing acts will be released in due course, so keep an eye out! For more information and a lovely photo gallery of past events, please visit the Ipswich Entertains website.
