Summer in Suffolk wouldn’t be complete without the fantastic sound of local live music ringing out across our town! We are absolutely thrilled to share that the line-up for Ipswich Music Day 2026 has officially been announced, promising a brilliant day of entertainment, culture, and community spirit for us all to enjoy.
What to Expect at Ipswich Music Day 2026
Set to take place on Sunday 5 July, this beloved family-friendly event is returning for its impressive 36th year. Holding the proud title of the largest free, one-day music festival in the UK, it offers a fantastic opportunity for our community to enjoy a great day out while supporting up-and-coming artists from Ipswich and the wider East Anglian region.
This year, the team at Ipswich Entertains received over 200 applications from hopeful performers. From that incredible pool of local talent, more than 30 crowd-pleasing acts have been selected. Whether you love acoustic singer-songwriters, energetic bands, talented soloists, or upbeat DJs, there will be something to get everyone dancing across the various stages.
More Than Just Music
Of course, Ipswich Music Day is about much more than just the incredible tunes. Hosted in the beautiful surroundings of Christchurch Park, the festival will also feature a fantastic variety of fairground rides, a bustling market, and plenty of delicious food vendors to keep you fuelled throughout the day. It is the perfect excuse to gather your family and friends, lay down a picnic blanket, and soak up the festival atmosphere right on our doorstep.
Councillor Neil MacDonald, Leader of Ipswich Borough Council, shared his excitement for the upcoming event and the opportunities it brings to our local area:
“Ipswich Music Day is a brilliant celebration of music, culture and local talent. We received so many outstanding entries to perform at this year’s event, and we’d like to thank everybody who applied.
“Congratulations to all the acts who’ll be taking to the stages to perform live to audiences throughout the day on Sunday 5 July, bringing an array of different musical genres to delight the crowds.
“This year’s event promises to be more diverse than ever, so we’re looking forward to showcasing some really exciting and talented artists and bands. Once again, audiences can prepare for a great day out as Christchurch Park comes alive with the sound of music, fun, and entertainment.”
We are so incredibly lucky to have such a vibrant and supportive community here in Ipswich. Free events like these not only showcase our local creative talent but also bring us together to celebrate everything that makes our town such a wonderful place to live, work, and play.
