Posted on March 27, 2026 by Sam Sherman

At Ipswich.love, we love local poetry.

We have received this wonderful piece written by Asbi Manoj.  Asbi graduated from Greenwich University London.  Her first book, entitled “Life@25” was published under mankind literature in India.  Asbi is actively working with Indian and English literature and lives in Ipswich.  Take a look and see if it resonates with you:

Home Land

There’s a place that forever feels like home..

There’s a place
Far away from the restless rush of London,
Where time slows down
And the air feels softer to breathe.

There’s a place
Covered in fields of green
With splashes of flowers
Painting the earth with quiet joy.

There’s a place
Where unity in diversity lives,
Where different voices blend together
Like a gentle song of belonging.

There’s a place
Where people love football with all their hearts,
Where cheers rise with the wind
And dreams run across the field.

There’s a place
Where history walks beside the future,
Old streets whisper stories
While tomorrow quietly unfolds.

And in that place
Among kind smiles and peaceful skies,
I found more than a town—
I found a feeling,
A memory that stays wherever I go.

I call that place
Ipswich
