Information - Victoria Wood’s Dinnerladies

Hello Ipswich! We have some absolutely brilliant news for all you comedy and theatre lovers out there. Grab your tea towels and get ready to laugh, because a brand-new stage adaptation of one of Britain’s most cherished sitcoms is heading right here to our very own Ipswich Regent Theatre!

A Fresh Helping of a Comedy Classic

It is hard to believe it’s been over 25 years since Victoria Wood’s hilarious and heartwarming sitcom dinnerladies first graced our TV screens on BBC One. Now, for the very first time, this much-loved comedy is making its way to the stage in an exciting new production.

What makes this show extra special is that it is the first piece of Victoria Wood’s work to be produced directly by her estate. You can rest assured that all of the sharp humour, warmth, and brilliantly observed characters that made the original TV series so adored will be shining bright on stage.

Starring Les Dennis and Your Canteen Favourites

We are absolutely thrilled to share that stage and TV favourite Les Dennis will be starring as the lovely canteen manager, Stan! He will be joined by the full canteen crew, with the rest of the cast to be announced soon.

Get ready for a fresh serving of laughs and chaos with Bren, Tony, Dolly, Jean, Twinkle, Anita, and the rest of the gang. Whether you are taking a nostalgic trip down memory lane to revisit your favourite characters or discovering the joy of dinnerladies for the very first time, this show promises to serve up a hilarious, heartwarming night out packed with plenty of surprises.
