Information - Understanding Sewing Machine Feet

Demystify your machine feet.

Using the right sewing machine foot for the correct task can make all the difference in the quality of your sewing.

This class will firstly explain the contents of the accessory pack that you get with your sewing machine (contents can vary by brand, but most are generalised), and then explore the different sewing machine feet that come with a machine and those that can be bought as an addition.

In our class all students will use our classroom Juki DX7 sewing machines, although you are welcome to bring in your own accessory pack/feet to discuss with the teacher.

We will be learning how to use:

  • Zipper foot
  • Buttonhole foot
  • Button sewing foot
  • Overcasting foot
  • Blind hem foot
  • Self levelling foot
  • ¼” stitch with regular zig zag foot
  • Satin stitch foot
  • Walking foot
  • Free motion foot

This class will help you learn how to match the right foot to the right project and give you the confidence you need to use your machine to its fullest potential.
