Experience the Haunting Sound of Joy Division at The Church

Get ready for a truly atmospheric evening in Ipswich! On Saturday 18th July 2026, our friends at Brighten The Corners are bringing Transmission – The Sound of Joy Division to the stunning setting of The Church. If you are a fan of the iconic post-punk era, this is a night you simply cannot miss.

Transmission are widely regarded as the UK’s number one Joy Division tribute act. They are renowned for their ability to perfectly capture the dark, cavernous, and intense sound that made the original band so influential. This isn’t just a performance; it’s a dedicated act of remembrance for one of the most inventive groups of their generation.

An Evocative Tribute to a Musical Legacy

Joy Division may have only been active for a few short years in the late 1970s, but their impact on music is still felt today. After the tragic loss of lead singer Ian Curtis, the remaining members went on to find global success as New Order, but the raw, emotional power of Joy Division’s music remains timeless.

Transmission recreates that legendary atmosphere with incredible devotion. As one attendee from the Leamington Assembly recently noted: “Heartfelt, faithful, emotional and devoted, this is no tribute. It’s an act of remembrance.”

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
