About the film
Charlie McDowell’s The Summer Book, based on Tove Jansson’s novel, follows an intergenerational family spending a transformative summer at their vacation home on a remote island in the Gulf of Finland.
Exploring grief and familial bonds between a young girl, her grandmother and her grieving father, it stars Glenn Close, Emily Matthews and Anders Danielsen Lie.
