Information - The Suffolk Business Leaders Lunch

The Suffolk Business Leaders Lunch is a gathering of likeminded business leaders, entrepreneurs, and directors from across Suffolk, who are passionate about business, connectivity, and community. The aim of the lunches is to offer a place where knowledge, insights and networking provide a catalyst for action, and a safe ‘Chatham House Rules’ style of engagement exists.

They strive to share the voice of a local cause or charity and offer an after-lunch speaker to present their insights on thought leadership. This month we have Jenny Hanlon, Chief Executive Adnams plc. Jenny started her career training to be an accountant with Ernst & Young, from here she worked across multiple sectors, having spent time with Barclays, Greene King, Willis plc, iprism and GRP Group. Jenny joined the Adnams Board in June 2020 as CFO and became CEO in July 2024. Jenny is also Treasurer of Aldeburgh Cinema Trust, providing films and experiences to those in the local community.

Jenny will be discussing Leadership through collaboration – creating a safe and open environment that encourages ideas and solutions, actively involving others from across the wider business in the decision-making process and accepting as a leader that you don’t have all the answers.

We’ll also be joined by the founder and CEO of Emmaus Suffolk, Claire Staddon, who will be our final guest charity speaker of the year. Claire Staddon, specialises in start-ups, in the private and third sector. Emmaus Suffolk is a local charity working in deprived areas of East Suffolk. Its innovative business model creates social enterprises to fund work that takes people from poverty, homelessness, social isolation, and unemployment to a place of self-sufficiency.

Spaces sell out quickly, so please note tickets will be limited to 2 people max from a single organisation

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
