Members and non-members are welcome to join us for these sessions
This day course will focus on the film Citizen Kane, and why it has been so lauded and for so long. What was it that made Kane an almost unique work in the Hollywood canon? And why was it toppled from the top spot by Vertigo? The morning will consist of a series of units on the context, conception and artistry embedded in the film, and on the figure of Orson Welles. The afternoon will be given over to an uninterrupted screening of the whole film, and a plenary to air final thoughts.
