A WWII Home Front Experience – PREVIOUSLY KNOWN AS THE CLIFFORD ROAD AIR RAID SHELTER MUSEUM
Underneath the playground at Clifford Road Primary School there are three WWII tunnel networks waiting to be explored!
The tunnels are located under the playground at Clifford Road Primary School in Ipswich. Other shelter tunnels have recently been discovered under the playground, left untouched for 80 years! We aim to bring the history under the playground to a wider, inclusive audience.
Public opening of The Tunnels takes place on the second weekend of each month between April and October. We are open to the public from from 1100 am to 3pm.
No need to book, cash and card are accepted. Please come and visit and support our unique heritage site under the playground. Refreshments and home made cakes available to buy.
