The Anna Airy Award Exhibition is an annual exhibition for young artists aged 16-20 and showcases the outstanding work produced in local schools and colleges. These exhibitions have been held since 1968 and are named in memory of Anna Airy (1882-1964) who was President of Ipswich Art Society for almost 20 years until her death in 1964. Anna Airy was not only one of the most distinguished women artists of her generation but an inspirational teacher and a champion of young artists.
The Society is most grateful to The Arts Society: South East Suffolk for its sponsorship in helping to make the Anna Airy Awards for young artists a lasting legacy.
