The tale of Margaret Catchpole has been shrouded in mystery ever since its writing. The famous horse stealer who escaped Ipswich jail, went on the run, and was eventually transported to Australia. Anthony Cobbold, the author’s two times great nephew, and founder of The Cobbold Family History Trust will describe his efforts to disentangle fact from fiction but he is the first to admit he does not know all the answers. It remains a dramatic and intriguing fiction.
