Information - Simmer

Join us for the launch of Simmer – an unapologetically feminist poetry book – by Ellen Clayton, at The Spread Eagle on Thursday 19th September. Free entry. 18+

Also featuring a selection of brilliant feisty feminist poets from the local area, including Jackie Montague, Cheyenne, & Amy Wragg. With a special ‘women’s spoken word open mic’, either sign-up on the day, or email to book your spot in advance. amy@getonthesoapbox.co.uk

Ellen Clayton is a poet from Suffolk. Her work has been widely published in online and print publications, including Free Verse Revolution Lit and Capsule Stories. Ellen’s debut chapbook, Home Baked, was published by Written Off Publishing in April 2022. She has performed at the Soho Theatre and the East Anglian Storytelling Festival. Her poetry has also been featured on BBC Upload. She can be found on Instagram @ellen_writes_poems.

Simmer will be available to purchase on the night, cash or card welcome.
