Sam Milne and the Tyrants / Not a Chance / Aviation

Get ready for an energetic night of indie rock and pop at The Smokehouse on Saturday, 10 January 2026! Teenage Ipswich band Sam Milne and the Tyrants are back where it all began, headlining a special show to celebrate the launch of their debut EP, Window.

About the Headliners – Sam Milne and the Tyrants

At just 16 years old, Sam Milne is already making waves with his original indie rock music alongside his backing band, the Tyrants. Having played notable venues like The Smokehouse and The Brewhouse, and opening the Brighten the Corners Festival 2025, Sam is a rising star in the Ipswich music scene. His lyrics explore teenage desperation, global politics, and confused romance, drawing inspiration from greats like Sam Fender and Fontaines D.C. From writing their first single “Window” with a close friend to selling out venues across East Anglia, they’re bringing fresh energy to the region.

Supporting Acts

  • Not a Chance: A fresh voice in indie pop rock, Not a Chance blends youthful energy with raw, unfiltered songwriting. Their sound combines distorted guitars, energetic choruses, and lyrics full of wit and emotion. Born out of cramped bedrooms and a cold barn, their songs capture disappointing relationships, late-night dreams, and elusive possibilities, all wrapped in a festival-worthy vibe.
  • Aviation: This alternative/indie-rock band hails from Ipswich and started out as a college band in September 2025. With River Gunn on vocals, Jamie Lamb and Ella Skirrow on guitars, Nicole Davies on bass, and Eddie Alway on drums, Aviation crafts music that builds a strong connection between the band and their audience.
