Information - Rude Science

Looking for something a little bit different to do with the kids in Ipswich? Get ready for a day of laughter, gasps, and just a little bit of “ewww” as the Corn Exchange plays host to the most revoltingly brilliant show on earth!

On Tuesday, 27th October 2026, BBC Gastronaut Stefan Gates is bringing his legendary **Rude Science** show to town. This isn’t your typical science lesson—it’s a high-tech, highly-explosive, and wonderfully naughty adventure through the human body and beyond.

The Grossest Science Show in Town

Brace yourselves, because Stefan isn’t holding anything back. This show is a celebration of the fascinating (and often disgusting) bodily science that keeps us alive. Your kids will be mesmerised by enormous bottoms, f*rt machines, snot cocktails, and even pee-powered fireworks!

From vast whoopee cushions to mannequins that ooze ear-wax, it’s a riot of stunts designed to delight young audiences. If it’s messy, smelly, or slightly outrageous, you can bet it’s part of the show.

Learning Has Never Been This Much Fun

While the kids are busy laughing at the gross-out stunts, they’ll actually be soaking up a wealth of knowledge. Underneath the “revolting” exterior, Rude Science is a brilliantly constructed, curriculum-driven show.

Stefan uses his signature high-octane energy to transform complex biology, physics, and chemistry into hilarious, easy-to-understand demonstrations. It’s the perfect way to inspire a lasting fascination for science and STEM subjects in a way that feels like anything but a classroom.

Meet Stefan Gates

You might recognise Stefan Gates from his incredible work on TV. He’s an award-winning presenter of 20 series, including CBBC favourites like *Incredible Edibles*, *Gastrolab*, and *Gastronuts*.

As a renowned STEM author of 12 books (including the aptly titled *Fartology*!), Stefan is world-famous for his ability to engage young minds. His stage shows are internationally acclaimed for being as educational as they are explosive.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
