Information - Rick Wakeman – The Wizard of Prog

Hey there, music lovers! We have some incredibly exciting news for all you classic rock and prog fans here in Ipswich. The legendary keyboard wizard himself, Rick Wakeman CBE, is bringing his spectacular new tour right to our doorstep at the magnificent Regent Theatre!

Mark your calendars for Monday 22nd February 2027, because this is going to be a magical night of music that you won’t want to miss. Rick, alongside the stellar English Rock Ensemble, will be performing as part of his highly anticipated “The Wizard Of Prog – Ultimate Highlights Concert Tour.”

A Journey Through 50 Years of Music History

Ever since Rick reformed the English Rock Ensemble back in 2022, their live shows have been getting bigger, bolder, and more spectacular. After selling out iconic venues like the London Palladium, they are hitting the road to bring their irresistible stage alchemy to Ipswich.

While past tours have focused on performing single albums in full, this brand-new 2027 show is extra special. This time, the setlist will feature a massive sweep across Rick’s legendary back catalogue. Fans can look forward to hearing beloved live tracks and absolute classics from his epic solo concept albums, including:

  • Journey To The Centre Of The Earth
  • The Myths & Legends of King Arthur & The Knights Of The Round Table
  • Iconic tracks from his time with the legendary band YES
  • …plus plenty of wonderful surprises along the way!

As Rick himself promises: “All tours are special, but this one is really very special. I can’t exactly tell you why, but trust me… it is!”

Perfect for the Whole Family

Whether you’ve been a fan for the last 50 years or you’re introducing the next generation to the wonders of prog rock, this is a fantastic, welcoming event for all. Just please note that under 14s will need to be accompanied by a fully paying adult (18+).

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
