Information - Rick Wakeman – The Wizard of Prog

Hey there, Ipswich music lovers! We have some absolutely magical news to share with you. Get ready to dust off your capes, because the legendary “Wizard of Prog” himself, Rick Wakeman CBE, is bringing his spectacular keyboard wizardry right here to Ipswich!

On Monday 22nd February 2027, the iconic Ipswich Regent Theatre will play host to Rick and the sensational English Rock Ensemble for an unforgettable evening of progressive rock history. Part of his highly anticipated UK tour, “The Wizard Of Prog – Ultimate Highlights Concert Tour,” this is a show that fans of classic rock simply cannot miss.

A Journey Through 50 Years of Musical Magic

Since reforming the English Rock Ensemble in 2022, Rick’s live shows have been getting bigger, bolder, and more spectacular. Following on from sold-out nights at the London Palladium and the triumphant “Return Of The Caped Crusader” tours, this brand-new 2027 show is set to be his best yet.

While past tours have focused on performing whole albums, this special concert is all about the fan favourites. Rick will be taking us on a grand sweep across his legendary career, performing the ultimate highlights from his massive back catalogue.

You can look forward to hearing mind-blowing extracts from his epic concept albums, including:

  • Journey To The Centre Of The Earth
  • The Myths & Legends of King Arthur & The Knights Of The Round Table
  • Classic tracks from his time with the iconic band YES
  • …plus plenty of other solo gems and a few wonderful surprises along the way!

Rick himself is incredibly excited for this run of shows, promising: “All tours are special, but this one is really very special. I can’t exactly tell you why, but trust me… it is!”

World-Class Musicians in Ipswich

This isn’t just a concert; it’s a masterclass in musical alchemy. Rick will be joined on the Regent Theatre stage by a group of incredibly talented, spell-binding musicians who bring these classic tracks bang-up-to-date with modern energy while keeping that beloved vintage prog-rock soul alive.
