Information - Remembrance Day Service

Members of the public are invited to attend the annual Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph in Christchurch Park on Sunday 10 November 2024.

Organised by the Royal British Legion and Ipswich Borough Council, the service provides an opportunity for the community to come together and pay their respects.

Starting at 10.50am, the service will be attended by veterans, civic leaders, members of the armed forces, cadets, and other organisations.

Military representatives and youth organisations will march through the centre of Ipswich to the service, starting from Elm Street at approximately 10.15am.

The route is: Elm Street, Museum Street, Westgate Street, Tavern Street, Northgate Street, crossing A1156 Crown Street into Soane Street. Members of the public are welcome to watch the parade but are asked to ensure they leave sufficient space for the parade and to follow directions from police and security staff.

Following the service, Councillor Elango Elavalakan, Mayor of Ipswich, Lady Clare Euston, Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk, and Martyn Levett, Honorary Recorder for Ipswich, will take the salute at the March Past.

Military units present are expected to include 4 Regiment Army Air Corps and 202 Squadron of 158 Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps, both of which have the Freedom of the Borough of Ipswich.
