Information - Regent Theatre Guided Tours – Heritage Open Days 2026

Heritage Open Days 2026

Have you ever stood in the audience at the magnificent Regent Theatre, looked up at the stage, and wondered what it feels like to stand in the spotlight? Well, now is your chance to find out!

Here at Ipswich.love, we are absolutely thrilled to share a very special event coming up for the 2026 Ipswich Heritage Open Days. On Sunday 13th September 2026, the iconic Regent Theatre is throwing open its doors to give you an exclusive, all-access pass “Behind the Curtain” of East Anglia’s largest and most loved theatre.

Walk in the Footsteps of Legends

The Regent Theatre has been the beating heart of Ipswich’s entertainment scene for generations. This special tour is your unique opportunity to stand on the very same stage that has hosted absolute musical royalty, including The Beatles, Tina Turner, and Cliff Richard. Imagine looking out at the beautiful auditorium from the exact perspective of the stars!

Go “Behind the Curtain”

During these wonderful guided tours, you’ll get to explore hidden areas of the theatre that are strictly closed to the general public during normal show nights. You’ll learn about the rich history of this beautiful building, meet the passionate team who keep the stage magic alive night after night, and have the opportunity to ask all your burning questions about what really goes on backstage.

Event Details & Timings

Because these tours offer such an intimate, behind-the-scenes experience, spaces are strictly limited to ensure everyone gets a fantastic view and a chance to chat with the guides.

  • Date: Sunday 13 September 2026
  • Tour Times: 10:00 AM, 12:00 Noon, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM
  • Venue: Regent Theatre, Ipswich
  • Capacity: Strictly limited to 20 people per tour
  • Age Policy: Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult (18+)

Don’t Miss Out!

Heritage Open Days are all about celebrating our wonderful local history, and the Regent Theatre is one of Ipswich’s absolute crown jewels. Because spaces are limited to just 20 people per tour, these spots are guaranteed to go quickly.

Gather your family, celebrate our local heritage, and get ready to see the Regent like you’ve never seen it before. We can’t wait to see you there! Don’t forget to tag us in your backstage photos using the hashtag #IpswichLove.
