Information - National Poetry Day

SoapBox Spoken Word CIC presents a National Poetry Day 2024 special edition of ‘Words & Verses’, our regular free entry spoken word open mic in Ipswich.
Held at The Steamboat, 7-10pm, this event welcomes all kinds of spoken word, from poetry to rap, comedy to storytelling.
Hosted by Amy Wragg, this special ‘National Poetry Day’ edition of Words & Verses is a friendly, fun and unapologetically honest event that celebrates words & language in all its glorious shapes. We equally welcome covers & originals. Bring a favourite poem to share, or something you’ve written yourself. No snobbery here.
W&V is also the most beautiful event in the region. Always adorned by unique handmade artwork made from recycled materials, and glittering with tons of fairy lights.
To book a spot (5-10mins each) either turn-up at the event on the day and sign-up on the sheet (spaces are always kept free for on-the-day sign-ups), or email to reserve in advance.
18+ adult language & content warning.
