Experience the Soulful Sounds of Matt Storm Live in Ipswich!

Get ready for an unforgettable evening with Matt Storm, a talented multi-instrumentalist whose music fuses vintage soul and jazz with modern alternative sounds. Known for his genre-defying alt-soul style—often described as “unique yet accessible”—Matt’s songs explore themes of vulnerability and hard truths that connect deeply with listeners.

About Matt Storm

Currently based in Vancouver, Matt’s upbringing across the globe has shaped his unique, self-taught musical style. Over the years, he has crafted a sound that is truly his own.

In 2022, Matt and his band performed at notable events such as Victoria’s Rifflandia Festival and the Vancouver Mural Festival, and he was selected for Music BC’s prestigious ARC Program. His track “We Went Our Own Ways” has become an underground Spotify hit, accumulating over 2 million streams.

Matt has toured extensively throughout western British Columbia, frequently playing at Vancouver’s popular venue Guilt & Co, as well as several trips to Vancouver Island and surrounding areas. In 2023, his journey took him overseas, touring Slovakia and the UK—including a headline show in London.

A longtime collaborator with Juno-nominated artist Desirée Dawson, Matt has been co-writing and touring with her since 2016. Their duets have featured prominently in her live shows on major stages such as The Vogue, Commodore Ballroom, and Vancouver Folk Fest. Matt also supported Serena Ryder on her 2022 western Canada tour.

New Music and Upcoming EP

2023 marked a new chapter for Matt with his upcoming EP SPILT, due for release in 2024. This self-produced project features some of Vancouver’s top musicians and is mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Ben Kane (known for work with D’Angelo and Emily King).

His recent singles like “what do ya miss?” have received critical acclaim and warm reception across North America and Europe, garnering over 200k streams on Spotify and landing on the popular “Low Key” playlist. The February 2024 single “APOLOGIZE” dives deeper into the psychedelic-soul vibes of the EP and has been featured on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds Canada.” Matt now boasts over 100,000 monthly listeners on Spotify—a testament to his growing fanbase.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert To Get Involved In Pride in Place

One of the biggest misconceptions about community projects is that they're only for people with impressive CVs, professional backgrounds or years of experience sitting on committees. The Pride in Place programme - a government investment for Whitehouse and Stoke Park/Chantry of £20m into each area over 10 years - is trying to change that.
