This Walk: As Giles Saw It
Carl Giles, famous as Cartoonist for the Daily and Sunday Express – and voted Britain’s favourite Cartoonist – lived near, and worked from, Ipswich for most of his life. His characters – including his famous “Grandma” – were known the World over. Much of his work depicted Ipswich scenes, buildings, and local characters. On this walk we will visit some of these scenes and enjoy some of his cartoons as we compare parts of the town with “as Giles saw it”
