Information - James Walsh of Starsailor

Front man of multi-million selling band Starsailor, James Walsh has proven his own worth as a singer-songwriter in his own right. He’s written songs with Eliza Doolittle, Melanie C, Suzanne Vega, and Professor Green – to name a few; as well as writing movie soundtracks. Starsailor’s initial run of success saw both their ‘Love is Here’ debut album and the 2003 follow-up ‘Silence is Easy’ hit #2 on the UK charts as they raced to a total of 3 million sales. The band also enjoyed more than their fair share of prestigious gigs, supporting the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Police, The Killers, and U2.

About James Walsh

Renowned British singer-songwriter James Walsh, celebrated for his iconic role as the frontman of the multi-platinum-selling band Starsailor, has made a return with his latest track, “The Ghost In Me”, a moving acoustic guitar-driven track.

Through poignant lyrics and intricate layered vocal harmonies, this acoustic ballad resonates with raw emotion, delving into those challenging moments when offering comfort to someone, until the healing power of a new day brings solace. The song also navigates the delicate balance between personal melancholy and being supportive for others.Layered acoustic guitar melodies gracefully carry us through the composition, accompanied by gentle piano chords that accentuate the tranquil ambiance of the piece.

With a remarkable career marked by chart-topping albums, James Walsh’s solo journey has firmly established him as an esteemed artist in his own right.

Speaking on the track, Walsh comments, “‘The Ghost In Me’ is a plaintive acoustic song about those times in life when nothing works to comfort somebody no matter how hard you try but then the restorative power of a new day does the trick. It’s also about keeping your own melancholy at bay when you need to be there for someone else. Sometimes new songs take a while take a while to embed themselves into the live set but this one has found its place pretty quickly & has been really well received on its live outings.”
