Information - Ipswich Ripple Food Coop

Founded in 2007, The Ipswich Ripple Food Co-op is a wholefood co-operative run by and for its  members with the aim of making healthy food  accessible to all.

How does our Food Co-op work?

We sell vegetarian and organic wholefoods, locally or ethically sourced. See Products for a list of the items that we stock. We add only 6% onto the wholesale price of goods for full  members.

We have trading sessions, once a fortnight on Saturdays, when members can buy our products. See News and Events for our trading dates. The sessions are held in the foyer of  19 Tower Street, Ipswich (the Citizens Advice Bureau ). See Contact Us for a map.

Shopping at the co-op is not like shopping in a supermarket. Many of our products come in bulk, members weigh out their own goods and look up the price from a list. It’s a hands-on experience, much more enjoyable than supermarket shopping!

Brown paper bags are provided for decanting dry goods into the quantity you need, but try to bring your own containers. Liquids, such as detergents and cleaning fluids, are sold from big drums with a funnel, so bring along your old washing up liquid bottles.

We have re-opened our fairtrade cafe, which provides a sociable, relaxed atmosphere. We welcome those with special dietary needs and stock  many gluten and dairy-free items.
